Costa Rican Food Caribbean Stile
If you want to taste the real Costa Rican Caribbean kitchen, you have to come here an try you plate with rice and beans, cooked with coconut-oil and hot peppers from Panama (Chiles Panameñas), and patacones. This for this area typical dish has to be cooked fresh, should not be warmed up and is pretty labor intensive and for that reason hard to find in tourist places. For me it tastes much bettter than the usual "Casado" which you get anywhere in Costa Rica.
