Identification:

Mid-sized green and white bird with long, heavy bill; conspicuous green head crest; white belly, white neek-band and throat; male has wide reddish brown bar aeross chest; to 28 cm (11 in). (Martín Pescador Amazónico, Martín Pescador).

Habitat:

Low elevation aquatic sites, Caribbean and Pacific slopes; found along rivers, larger streams, lakes.

Cahuita National Park.
Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge.
Corcovado National Park.
La Selva Biological Reserve.
