Identification:

Mid-sized brown bird with black barring pattern on head, back, chest, and belly; fairly heavy, dark bill; to28cm (11in). (Trepador Barreteado, Trepapalos).

Habitat:

Low and some middle elevation forests, Caribbean and Pacific slopes; found in forest interior and in more open sites such as forest edges, tree plantations, and, in drier areas, in trees along waterways.
