Identification:

Mid-sized dark or olive brown bird with black cheeks and throat; grayish chest and belly; small amount of pale bluish skin around eye; long legs, short tail; to 18cm (7 in). (Gallito Hormiguero Carinegro).

Habitat:

Low and middle elevation wet forest. Caribbean and southern Pacific slopes; found in forest interior or edge, on or near the ground.
