Identification:

Smallish dove with yellowish bill; male bluish gray with lighter face, chest, and belly; dark spots and bars on wings; sides of tail black; female brownish with reddish brown bars on wings; to 20 cm (8 in). (Tortolita Azulada, Tortolita).

Habitat:

Low and middle elevation wet forests, countrywide; found usually on the ground in open areas, pastures, fields, open woodlands, and at forest edges.

Cahuita National Park.
Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge.
