Largish bird with dark, hooked bill, long, yellowish legs, and dark tail with light bars.Two forms: light form has black back and wings, white or tawny chest and belly, white face; dark form is mostly black, with chest and belly barred with white or light brown; to 51cm (20in). (Halcón de Monte Collarejo)
Habitat:
Low and middle elevation wooded areas, Caribbean and Pacific slopes; found in forest interiors and edges.
