Identification:

A very large, white, wading bird with black head and huge, black bill; reddish area at bottom of neck; to 1.4m (4.5ft) tall; wingspan to 2.3m (7.5ft). (Galán Sin Ventura, Jabirú).

Habitat:

Aquatic habitats in some lowland areas; found around streams, rivers, ponds, lakes. but most often in marshes.

Found in the following Parks:

Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge.
Palo Verde National Park.
