Identification:

Large, dark reddish purplish pigeon with brown back; belly and tail gray; bill whitish and red; reddish legs; 33cm (13in). (Paloma Piquirroja)

Habitat:

Low and middle elevations, particularly northern Pacific slope; less common on Caribbean slope; found in open wooded areas, forest edge, clearings, grassland, and agricultural areas.
