Identification:

Typically yellow with a wide dark stripe along its back, but some individuals are nearly all yellow and others nearly all black; thin, smallish head; oar-shaped tail; rarely longer than 80cm (32 in).

Habitat:

Marine, Pacific Ocean, usually lives fairly far from shore, but often found stranded or dead on beaches.
