Identification:
A stout rattlesnake with a triangular brown head and a brown body with a pattern of darker triangles or diamonds; 2 stripes run from the top of the head along the neck; a noticeable ridge runs along the middle of the back; to 1.5m (5ft).
Habitat:
Low elevations dry forest, northern Pacific slope; found in open areas, forest clearings, dry grasslands, on the ground or in rock crevices.
