Identification:

Medium-sized all-white heron with black bill and legs; immature bird is similar but back of legs yellowish green and with some gray on bill; to 64 cm (25 in); wingspan to 1 m (3.3ft). (Garceta Nivosa, Garza Blanca).

Habitat:

Aquatic habitats over Caribbean and Pacific lowlands; found in coastal areas and in or near ponds, rivers, and marshes.

Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge.
Corcovado National Park.
La Selva Biological Reserve.
