Identification:

Large, white wading bird with black head, neck, and bill; black shows under wings in flight; to 1m (3.3ft) tall; wingspan to 1.5m (5ft). (Cigueñón).

Habitat:

Aquatic habitats in some lowland areas; found around streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, but mostoften in marshes, including saltwater marshes.

Found in the following Parks:

Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge.
Palo Verde National Park.
Santa Rosa Nacional Park.
