The only Costa Rican Otter

The southern river otter (perro de agua; Lutra longicaudis) is the only otter in Costa Rica. It lives by fast-moving lowland rivers, but is infrequently seen. They are of rich brown color with whitish undersides and have a streamlined shape of an aquatic weasel.
