From Palamar Sur 38 kms. The small Sierpe lagoon (92 hectares) forms part of the very hot, humid and marshy lowlands of the basin of the River Sierpe, which flows into the Pacific Ocean close to the river Térraba. A large number of holillo palms and other typical marshland plants grow around the lagoon.
