The area is drained by the Rivers Tusubres, Seco, Gloria, Copey, Cama Blanca, Agujas, Tárcoles, Río Grande de Tárcoles and others. The main economic activity of the area is tourism.
Interesting Sites
The beachtown of Jacó is heavily frequented by tourists. There are several beautiful beaches in the area including Punta Leona, Playa Hermosa and Bahía Herradura. Carara Biological Reserve and Caldera Reserved Port Zone are other tourist attractions.
