The Program of the Chrotega Indigenous Pottery & Palo Verde Tour

Itinerary:

An economic Nature Safari you should not miss

Your tour goes to the city of Filadelfia and from there towards the port of Ballena. There you'll board a small covered boat an a channel will take you to the Tempisque river. You'll be traveling in the river along the Palo Verde National Park. Along the way you'll see lots of wildlife. A couple of stops are planned to specially see White-faced Capuchin monkeys and American Crocodiles.

After your return to the port, you'll be driving to a small village where you'll have a delicious typical lunch. This same tour you'll find in combination with the Congo Trail Canopy Tour, or without combination as the Palo Verde Río Tempisque Tour or the Guaitil Chorotega Pottery Tour.

P.S. It is possible that the Río Tempisque tour comes before the visit of the pottery town Guaitil.

A short drive will take you to Guaitil

There you'll first see a demonstration by one of the potters. He will show you the materials used and the manual process to create these beautiful pieces of ceramic the way the ancestors of them, the Chorotega Indians did it. During the process he will produce one of these beautiful pieces.

If you feel like buying, please compare quality and prices in the different stores around the soccer-field of the village. The black items are more difficult to make and therefore a little more expensive like the rest. Use the purchased items just for decoration purposes.
