Where culture meets nature
The Eco Hotel consists of five Palenque Buildings: Four buildings have eight guestrooms each and one is the central building with the lobby, restaurant, bar, a gourmet coffee bar, a picture gallery, the management, and a souvenir shop.
It is a place where an eco-development, the conservation of nature is combined with a sustainable tourism. The concept and development is from the Landscape Foundation Belgium in association with different governmental- and non-governmental organisations and important businesses dedicated to conservation, eco-tourism Costa Rican and Indigenous Culture as well as environmental engineering.
It is a fabulous entrance-door to the wonderful tropical rainforest and the limitless kingdom of nature of Costa Rica. The Centro Neotrópico SarapiquíS is built like a pre-Columbian village and as an ecological model-project using ecological sustainable technology like solar energy, natural materials of the area, and a new innovative water-treatment plant for wetlands. The visitors have the opportunity to experience the mysteries of the tropical forest from a spacious place at the four-star ecological hotel "Ecolodge SarapiquíS" (32 guestrooms with restaurant and bar).
There is also a large museum of 1000m² (3000ft²), surrounded by botanical gardens, the incredible archaeological park called 'Alma Ata' and 350 hectares of the biological reserve 'La Tirimbina'. The centre offers a very lifelike and intimate impression of the dynamics of live in a tropical forest. The highly trained, select staffs of professionals invite you to this unforgettable experience.
