We visit hundreds of hotels every year
And we have been in and around the Dominical area many times, staying at many places. Here, about 35 kilometers south of Dominical at Playa Tortuga (Turtle Beach), the hosts Carol and Steve immediately gave us a warm welcome without knowing who we were (in this occasion I traveled with 3 of my sons). This place is perfect if you are interested in outstanding food, a family-like atmosphere, an incredible view, birding, lots of flowers in the garden and the vecinity of an endless list of possible activities and parks.
The Lookout Hotel is located in Ojochal at the Playa Tortuga (Turtle Beach) on the Southern Pacific Coast ideally positioned where the rain forest meets the ocean, 35 km south of Dominical and 24 km north of Palmar Sur on the east side of the Costanera Sur (Pacific Coast Highway). It's just a 45-minute flight from San José to Palmar Sur or a 4 to 4½ hours drive through Quepos or San Isidro de El General (Pérez Zeledón).
